We are approximately 35 minutes from Jasper on Highway 16,  please use extreme caution as the stretch of highway from Jasper to the East Gate has the most wildlife of any road within the park.  At night watch for eyeshine from the animals and be aware that moose are black and dont reflect at all.  Deer, sheep, mountain goats, elk, coyotes are plentiful.  Moose and wolves have also been seen. Depending on the time of year, occasional grizzly bear and black bear can also be viewed eating along this stretch of highway.  This is because it is the montain zone where they all come to raise their young as this is where they can find the most food.
